Valerian root, an extract from a purple flowering plant, has been traditionally used to reduce anxiety and stress in both humans and animals. Together, these natural ingredients help your cat feel calm, settled, and more at ease during stressful moments.

Valerian extract comes from the root of a pretty purple flower and contains actinidine, which can induce a brief euphoric state in cats lasting 5 to 30 minutes. Unlike catnip, valerian may then help some cats mellow out or even fall asleep. As they're only natural, roughly 50% of cats respond to valerian, like with catnip.

Yes! We use a safe, carefully measured amount of valerian root extract suitable for kittens over 8 weeks old. The “valerian root gene” typically activates between 3–6 months of age, so younger kittens may not experience the full calming effect just yet, but they’ll still enjoy the tasty treat.
