FAQs

Yes! Our Dry Cat Food Chicken recipe is nutritionally complete, providing all the essential nutrients your cat needs for a healthy, happy life. You can feed it on its own or combine it with other complete Scrumbles recipes to add variety and keep mealtimes exciting.

Yes, cats can eat small amounts of rice. We include a little white rice in this recipe because it's easy to digest and gentle on sensitive tummies. It also helps bind the ingredients to form our crunchy cat biscuits. While cats are obligate carnivores, a small amount of rice can support digestion without compromising their nutritional needs, and serves as a helpful source of natural fibre and energy.

Our dry food bags are made from fully recyclable materials. You can usually recycle them at you local supermarket alongside plastic carrier bags. Please also check your local kerbside recycling guidelines to ensure correct disposal and help reduce environmental impact. Get ready from 2027 where the recycling rules will be more consistent so you'll be able to recycle kerbside across the country!

Yes! All our recipes are suitable for cats over 8 weeks old, including kittens. As kittens have higher energy needs to fuel all those zoomies and growth spurts, it’s important to feed the right amount. You can use our handy feeding calculator above for guidance. That said, we also offer a dedicated Kitten & Queens Chicken Dry Food, specially formulated with extra calories, protein, and nutrients to support healthy development. It’s a great choice if you’re after tailored nutrition for growing cats or nursing mums (Queens).

Yes! Chicken is a great protein source for cats. As obligate carnivores, cats require high-quality animal protein to meet their nutritional needs and ensure they get all of their essential amino acids. Chicken is not only highly digestible, but also a lean meat with a lower environmental impact compared to red meats, and it tastes great too!

Great question! These are all gut-friendly ingredients we use to enrich our dry food recipes and support your pet’s gut health, which plays a big role in their digestion, immunity, and overall wellbeing. Prebiotics are types of fibre that feed the good bacteria already living in your pet’s gut, like Slippery Elm and Inulin. Probiotics are the live, friendly bacteria themselves, which help to balance the gut microbiome and crowd out bad bacteria. The specific probiotic we use is Enterococcus Faecium, known for its poop-perfecting qualities. Finally, postbiotics are the beneficial compounds that probiotics naturally produce, which help support gut lining, immunity, and nutrient absorption.

Cats are obligate carnivores which means they need lots of meat. That's why our chicken kibble is packed with 75% chicken. Providing a high level of animal protein for your cat. Plus, we only use cage-free (free run) chickens, so your cat can have a lighter pawprint.

Yes! Our entire range of dry cat food recipes are hypoallergenic, meaning they're free from common allergens like gluten, soy, dairy, egg, and red meat. We also go one step further, enriching them with prebiotics, probiotics, and postbiotics for sensitive stomachs. As any ingredient can be an allergen, it's important to check the ingredients list to ensure our chicken cat food will enable your kitty to thrive

Our adult chicken dry cat food kibble measures approximately 7.5mm in diameter and 5mm deep. If you're looking for a smaller kibble, check out our Kitten and Queens cat food which measures approximately 6mm in diameter and 4mm deep. You can also mix it up by sprinkling some of our dental Krunchies to their meals which offers different textures and a larger size of roughly 15mm by 9.5mm

Our recipes are made with minimally processed, natural ingredients. Because we use natural ingredients and avoid over-processing, you might notice slight variations in size, texture, and smell from batch to batch - this is totally normal! Occasionally, you may also come across small oat fibres, small bone fragments, or visible pieces of carrots and other ingredients. Rest assured, these are perfectly safe for your furry friends and are part of what makes Scrumbles both tasty and wholesome for them. If you have any queries, don’t hesitate to drop us a message.

Once you have opened a bag of our dry cat or dog food, we advise that you use it within 3 months. Make sure to reseal the bag to maintain freshness and nutritional quality. Store in a cool, dry place and always check the best-before date on the bag. You can decant it into an airtight container for extra crunch-preserving power.

Absolutely! All our dry dog food recipes are complete and balanced, so you can mix and match with other complete flavours to keep mealtimes exciting. Switching between recipes should be okay for most pets, just introduce new flavours gradually if your pooch has a particularly sensitive tum.

We know every floof is different, so we offer both grain-free and gluten-free recipes to suit different dietary needs. Grain-free options avoid all grains completely, making them ideal for pets with grain sensitivities. Our gluten-free recipes include gentle, non-wheat grains like rice, which can provide slow-release energy for other floofs.
