It sure is. Cats are obligate carnivores, meaning they need plenty of proper animal protein to thrive. That’s why meat is always the #1 ingredient in our kitten food. Our recipe is packed with 77% responsibly sourced chicken, which is delicious for little taste buds and the purrfect fuel for healthy growth and development.

When looking at protein, it’s important to know the difference between meat content and analytical protein content. Meat content shows how much meat goes into the recipe, while analytical protein measures the actual protein in the finished food.

Wet cat food naturally looks lower in protein because it contains around 82% moisture. On a dry matter basis, our wet food ranks highest, at around 50% protein, but our Dry cat food delivers lots of protein too, averaging around 42% protein.

Across our range, you’ll find 60–77% high-quality meat, delivering essential amino acids to support strong muscles and overall health.

For context, the FEDIAF minimum for cats is 26% protein on a dry matter basis—so all of our wet and dry recipes go well above and beyond, and importantly, it’s real animal protein (not plant fillers).
