    FAQs

The amount to feed will depend on your dog’s size, age, and activity level. Use our online feeding calculator to work out how much your dog needs each day. This is just a guide, so adjust portions to help maintain an ideal body condition.

Always provide fresh water and reduce food slightly if you’re also giving treats. Once opened, seal the tray, refrigerate it, and use within 4 days.

Our wet food packaging is mostly recyclable: both the tray and the cardboard sleeve are 100% recyclable, just give them a quick rinse first. The plastic film, however, needs to go in your general waste for now. We're actively working on a recyclable alternative for the film to make our packaging even more sustainable.

As your dog matures, their metabolism and digestive system changes so feeding the right food is even more important when looking after an older dog. Healthy senior dog food should include easy to digest quality protein, the right balance of vitamins and minerals, and ideally have added joint care. All our recipes are designed with digestive health in mind and tailored to meet the nutritional profile of all life stages. Your senior dog’s metabolism will be slower than before so it’s important to monitor their weight and body condition to avoid obesity, which older dogs are more susceptible to.

No, as long as you’ve chosen a good quality adult dog food it should provide all your pooch needs later in life, meaning you don’t necessarily need to switch. The major thing you need to watch out for with senior dogs is their weight, so you might need to reduce their portion size accordingly.

Different sized pooches develop differently, so we consider small breeds above the age of 11 to be senior citizens, medium breeds at 10, and for larger breeds at 8 years of age.

The decision is really up to you and your pooch which type of food to feed. Senior dogs are more likely to suffer from dental disease, so wet food can be a good option for pooch's missing a tooth or two, as well as having a higher moisture content to help stay hydrated. Equally you can just moisten dry food recipes with a splash of water.
